Incoterms, lead times, documentation and destination responsibilities on export orders placed through OZIANT.
Last updated 15-08-2026. Applies to all orders placed through oziant.com.
OZIANT is a cross-border marketplace. Goods are exported from India to overseas wholesale buyers across twenty markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria, Brazil and Hong Kong.
If your destination is not listed, ask. We ship to other markets where the goods are lawfully importable and payment can be settled through escrow.
Quotations are issued FOB Indian port by default. The Incoterm that governs your order is the one stated on your proforma invoice, and it decides where risk and cost transfer from supplier to buyer.
| Term | Supplier covers | You cover |
|---|---|---|
| EXW | Goods available at the factory | Everything from the factory gate onward |
| FOB (default) | Goods, export clearance, inland haulage, loading on vessel at the named Indian port | Ocean or air freight, insurance, destination charges, duty, delivery |
| CFR / CIF | As FOB plus freight to the named destination port, and marine insurance under CIF | Destination charges, duty, delivery |
| DAP / DDP | Delivery to your named address; DDP also covers destination duty and taxes | Unloading; under DAP, duty and taxes |
DAP and DDP are quoted on request and are not available for every category or market.
Lead time runs from confirmed proforma invoice and cleared escrow deposit — not from first enquiry. Indicative production windows by category are published on each category page. Sampling, where required, runs before this window and is quoted separately.
Transit time is additional to production. As an indication: India to Gulf ports 7–12 days, India to UK and North Europe 22–30 days, India to US East Coast 28–35 days, India to US West Coast 30–40 days, India to Australia 18–25 days. Air freight is typically 3–7 days door to door.
These are carrier schedules, not guarantees. Port congestion, blank sailings, customs inspection and weather routinely move them.
Export documentation is prepared by ZJELL Limited, the group's export and import consultancy, and is included at no additional charge on marketplace orders. A standard set comprises:
Documents are issued in the buyer's name so they can be filed directly by your customs broker.
Funds are held in escrow and release to the supplier only once the shipping documents have been verified. Letters of credit and documentary collections are supported where you prefer to work through your bank; ZJELL prepares documents to the terms of the credit.
Unless your order is quoted DDP, you are the importer of record and are responsible for import duty, taxes, customs brokerage, port charges, demurrage and detention at destination.
The current duty position for each market is published on the relevant market and category pages, and our team will run a landed-cost calculation for your specific HS code and CIF value before you order. Duty positions change; the figure that applies is the one in force on the date of import.
Marine insurance is included under CIF and CIP. Under EXW, FOB and CFR it is your responsibility. We strongly recommend insuring every consignment: an uninsured transit loss is not recoverable from the supplier once risk has transferred under the agreed Incoterm.
You may appoint a third-party inspection agency or your own representative, or request an OZIANT-coordinated inspection, before goods leave India. Goods that fail inspection against the approved specification may be rejected before shipment under our Returns, Rejections & Refunds Policy.
Where a delay is caused by the supplier, ZJELL will advise a revised date and you may cancel and recover escrow if the revised date is commercially unacceptable to you.
Neither OZIANT nor the supplier is liable for delay caused by events outside reasonable control — port strikes, congestion, blank sailings, carrier insolvency, customs action, changes in law or tariff, natural events or conflict affecting a shipping lane.
Goods must be lawfully exportable from India and lawfully importable at destination. Where a licence, registration or destination approval is required — food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical and certain textile categories are the usual cases — it is your responsibility to hold it, and we will tell you what is needed before you order.
