Context
India's Commerce Minister stated in July 2026 that legal scrubbing was nearing completion, with signature targeted for December 2026 and entry into force expected in early 2027. Reported terms give India preferential access on 97% of EU tariff lines covering 99.5% of trade value, with around 91% of Indian exports duty-free at entry into force. DO NOT quote EU duty-free terms to a buyer until the agreement is actually in force.
